Perfect threads programmed with the Tebis Production Machining Package

    Goodbye to manual intervention!

Tebis provides a turnkey virtual environment where all standard tasks can be performed in the software based on templates.

From a technical standpoint, the Tebis Production Machining Package makes our work much easier. Plus: The results we achieve fulfill our high standards for process safety and quality.

    Stefan Henselmann
    Gühring KG

Gühring is a traditional company and one of the leading manufacturers of precision tools on the global market.

Gühring imposes the highest quality standards on itself and its solutions. With the Tebis Production Machining Package, the technology leaders in rotating machining have acquired the right tool for fast and precise part manufacturing.

Stefan Henselmann, programmer at Gühring, explains:

Our goal is to make programming and machining efficient, on time and safe for processing. We’ve successfully achieved this using templates for generating threads. These tools are traditionally used at the end of the manufacturing chain – not until the components or individual parts are essentially finished. They always need to fit perfectly as part of a safe overall process.

The introductory videos are great, as is the Tebis support team. They are always available with tips and support. My conclusion: A manageable initial outlay yields an immediate benefit from the functions the package offers.

    Transparency and planning safety

With this background, the Gühring team implemented the Tebis CAD/CAM starter kit, which benefits them in many ways. The standard applications can be stored as templates. The team can call up these programmed applications at any time at the click of a button and use them as-is or edit and modify them for new requirements. This eliminates many routine tasks in day-to-day work. Gühring's consistent standard program can also be applied with the templates. These coordinated processes with templates and standard tools provide the end user with proven, standardized solutions. Stefan Henselmann is enthusiastic:

Where it previously took hours to calculate, I can now set up different variants within minutes and see the time required for each alternative – all nicely visualized and easy to understand, even for non-users. This display option is ideal for us as contract manufacturers: It allows us to present different technical variants to our customers before the project begins and also to realistically present the associated machining costs.

Machining operations are generated within minutes, clearly visualized and easy to follow.

Programming at the click of a button

Gühring currently uses the Production Machining Package for standard applications, especially for 3+2-axis milling. Template technology, which gives users the option to store edited and programmed applications and call them up again automatically, ensures maximum safety in use. Henselmann explains:

The process steps are significantly faster with this tool – and are absolutely safe. Individual team members can take over seamlessly in the event of a vacation or illness. Theoretically, the machine could also continue operating unattended overnight. Either way it’s the high quality and precision of the programming that’s the most convincing for us. The tool set is also scalable: We can use it for any application in the future, no matter how technically ambitious.

The supplied database already contains several standard applications.

    Prerequisites and implementation effort

The prerequisites for working with the Production Machining Package are extremely simple. Prior CAD/CAM experience is useful, but specific experience with Tebis isn’t essential. In addition to a supplied database that already includes several standard applications, Tebis has introductory videos and its own support team which Henselmann says provide "fast and highly competent " assistance, answers and tips. According to Henselmann, implementing the package “required a little concentration” but went smoothly with the help of the videos and the support team. "Here’s my conclusion," says Henselmann:

The Production Machining Package is extremely smart and convenient. With the well-made videos and the helpful customer team, you can get off to a really quick start and experience an immediate boost in automated programming.

    • Manageable training/implementation effort
    • High technical standards
    • Very fast while still safe for processing
    • Convenient template technology
    • Business benefit: the "Management Dashboard“
Standard applications can be stored as templates

The Production Machining Package lets me calculate applications within minutes, including variants, with everything displayed in a super-visual presentation and with clear information on each machining duration.
